Gateway Springfield offers inpatient and outpatient treatment programs that fit the needs and goals of different patients.
Inpatient or residential treatment offers patients a completely sober environment, increasing their chances of recovery and long-term sobriety success. Patients remain in a structured and supportive environment 24/7, receiving the counseling and medical treatments they need all in one convenient location.
For patients who are at a higher risk for relapse or require more care, inpatient treatment offers many benefits, plus peace of mind. Without access to drugs or alcohol, these individuals won’t have to worry about giving into cravings. Also, while the environment is completely sober, patients will still have access to medical care if they need additional support managing their withdrawal symptoms.
Our outpatient program allows patients to receive personalized treatment while still continuing their regular routine. We offer these programs a few times a week, giving patients the flexibility of choosing a day and time that works with their schedule. There are even evening and weekend options available, making it easy for those with full-time jobs to receive medical and professional care.
Even though patients aren’t staying at the facility 24/7, they will still have access to our team of experts whenever they have questions, experience cravings or need encouragement. They can also interact with our addiction recovery support groups, which allow them to connect with alumni.

Having treated career professionals for years, Gateway has now developed a 22-bed program for men who are looking to get back on track professionally, scholastically and with their family. Many men who are goal and career-driven have lost their way during this process and fall prey to addiction. Realizing that treatment for these individuals can’t happen in a vacuum, we have incorporated time into our patient’s schedules to address outside pressing issues and obligations and access to computers for career or scholastic focus.
This time is utilized within the therapeutic process to address work-life balance, manage pressures, integrate life demands and apply skills in real-time to better address all aspects of one’s life.
Defining what is to be a man, and how one’s interpretation of being a man is expressed in one’s life, is an essential part of this program. Men experiencing pressure in their many different roles — roles such as father, son, husband, provider, friend, employee and more, can leave little room for balance, spirituality, connection and self-care. Defining these roles and expectations and bringing balance to one’s life is essential for living a life of sustained recovery.
The Triumph program focuses on this and gives men the needed skills to be successful in defining and living in an integrated way.
Individuals, who are in a career, own a business or are employed in a family business, graduate students, professional or semi-professional athletes, corporate professionals and executives and those involved in safety-sensitive professions. Those individuals who truly need access to work during their treatment stay will find this program beneficial. After an arrest for DUI in Illinois, you must go through a drug and alcohol evaluation. This evaluation helps the state understand your alcohol or drug use history and condition. The purpose of this screening process is to know whether you pose a threat to society, due to your alcohol or drug abuse. You need this evaluation to satisfy court requirements or gain your license reinstatement through the Secretary of State.
You need certain documentation for your DUI evaluation. This includes your recent driving record and a consultation checklist completed through a hearing officer, based upon the Secretary of State’s Office sworn report or your DUI police report. The reporting must include information from your arrest for DUI.
The process for completion of your evaluation after DUI classes takes about two hours. You go through a counselor’s interview. You also complete a questionnaire focusing on your drug or alcohol use.
The interview portion includes your demographic information, details of your arrest and prior drug or alcohol offense history. Past offenses that work against your case include zero-tolerance offenses, illegal transportation of controlled substances and other offenses related to DUI, drugs or alcohol.
The interview also digs into your past alcohol use, legal drug use and prescriptions. The interviewer provides a summary of their findings according to the criteria of substance use disorder. When the evaluation ends, the findings gain final classification of your substance use as minimal, moderate, significant or high risk.
The judge considers your risk classification with details of the evaluation and interview summary when sentencing you for your DUI. This sentencing specifies what you must do before gaining reinstatement of your driver’s license. Sentencing often requires people in your shoes to take DUI classes through an approved provider.
Your DUI evaluation recommends a set number of treatment hours according to your risk classification. If your class is minimal risk, you must undergo 10 hours of DUI classes. For moderate and significant risk, you need 10 hours of these classes plus additional hours of other treatment and education. For high-risk people, sentencing includes 75 hours of classes with an ongoing treatment plan.
Because of the major role these classes and evaluations play in your future, you need help from state-approved counselors in a quality Drug or Alcohol Addiction Treatment Center. The only way you get your license back is by meeting the requirements of the law. So you need to get your evaluation and classes right the first time.
The first step you must take after DUI arrest is that of seeking a DUI attorney. This lawyer helps you meet the state’s requirements. You also need help from quality counselors highly familiar with the DUI process. Getting connected to these resources to complete these steps can take place at Gateway Springfield in Springfield, Illinois.
