Kerry Henry has been with Gateway since 1994 and has worked in both the community and corrections divisions during her career. Since 2009, Henry has been in an executive leadership role overseeing the central Illinois programs.
Kerry is very proud to work for an organization that is a leader in the industry and genuinely cares about those who are suffering from substance use disorders. She finds working in the field to be challenging but rewarding in that the staff have the ability to help people regain and change lives for the better.
Kerry earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a certified alcohol and drug counselor (CADC)
Dr. Cathy Crabtree has been in practice for over 40 years. She has been a consultant at Gateway since 2009 while maintaining a private practice in family medicine in Chatham until she retired in 2014.
Prior to joining Gateway, Dr. Crabtree worked at Lincoln Prairie Behavioral Center treating children with behavioral issues. She has been a member of the Sangamon County and Illinois State Medical Societies for over 40 years. Moreover, she is an active member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Crabtree has also been involved in several projects around the Springfield community.
Dr. Crabtree earned her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Missouri.
Winston has been with Gateway Foundation for over 26 years trying to change the lives within the youth/adults programs and in the prison sector and conducting outreach in several communities throughout the state of Illinois that struggle with addiction to drugs and alcohol. He currently serves as the Program Director of Central Illinois Outpatient Programs. His education was obtained through Alcorn State University, S.I.U. Carbondale, and Benedictine University. Winston is also a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. He possesses a very high knowledge of the 12 step process and the process of addiction by identifying the cycle of recovery. His desire is to re-educate individuals back into society as a mature, responsible adolescence or adults.
The dedicated Addiction Specialists at Gateway Springfield Outpatient provides substance use disorder education and group counseling. The team is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and offers compassionate care during all stages of recovery. Patients will work with many members of the staff including certified alcohol and drug counselors (CADCs), licensed professional counselors (LPCs), licensed clinical professional counselors (LCPCs) and licensed clinical social workers (LCSWs).
