Treatment That Works
Gateway Foundation focuses on providing the most effective addiction therapies and clinical approaches throughout an individual’s substance abuse treatment; this includes the use of evidence-based practices. Evidence-based practices are treatments that integrate professional research and clinical expertise to achieve the best outcome for each individual. Gateway Foundation is a recognized leader in the use of evidence-based treatment with proven results.
What Does “Evidence-Based Practices” Mean for You?
Gateway Foundation will make decisions about an individual’s treatment based on knowledge backed by research. This makes it easier for our teams to determine the optimal substance use treatment plan for each patient. Listed below are the evidence-based treatment methods most commonly used at Gateway Foundation:
ACCEPTANCE AND COMMITMENT (ACT)
ACT is a form of mindfulness that can be beneficial in helping change behaviors and assisting with a commitment to positive action.
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT)
CBT is interwoven with other evidence-based practices. It focuses on changing destructive or unhealthy behavior patterns.
DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY (DBT)
DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT
MEDICATION-ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT)
Developed at Gateway Foundation, Mindfulness-Based Sobriety is an integrated approach to substance use disorder treatment that focuses on helping patients build the skills to be more present and ultimately create positive change.
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING (MI)
Motivational Interviewing helps patients recognize the need for change and how to move past the physical, psychological and social reasons for substance use. This practice keeps patients accountable to their treatment and recovery.
This coping skills therapy is specifically designed for survivors of trauma with substance use disorders. By learning to cope in the present instead of focusing on past trauma, trauma survivors can heal and address substance use at the same time.
