CORRECTIONS-BASED FUNDERS

Gateway is the leading provider of therapeutic community based treatment in correctional institutions.  Funding is provided by the Departments of Correction in Illinois, Missouri and New Jersey as well as the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.  Gateway has been a pioneer in establishing programs for men, women, adolescents and special needs dual-diagnosis clients. At any one time, Gateway has more than 8,000 offenders in our corrections-based programs.

Gateway provides a 3-day immersion training for parole and probation officers, corrections staff, and a wide range of community service providers at the Sheridan Correctional Facility. They learn the goals and techniques used in Gateway's modified therapeutic community so they are better prepared to help inmates transition back into the community. The training includes instruction, observation and participation in inmate programs.
